FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE
Paleochannel in the Ruby Ranch Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation of eastern Utah.
Spence Shale of Idaho: Summer 2019Collaborators: Dr. Julien Kimmig, University of Kansas; Rhi Lavine, University of Chicago
Results: Project begins this summer. Goals are to document the taphonomy, assemblage, and sedimentological setting of the Spence Shale fossils of Idaho and compare with those from the Spence Shale of Utah. Wayan Formation of Idaho: 2002-PresentCollaborators: Dr. Dave Varricchio, Montana State University
Dr.'s Brooks Britt and Rod Scheetz, BYU-Provo Results: Idaho's best known dinosaur Oryctodromeus cubicularis, eggs of the giant oviraptorosaurian ootaxa Macroelongatoolithus carleylei, nodosaurs, iguanodontians, dromaeosaurs, tyrannosauroids, crocodyliformes, turtles, and mammals. North Horn Formation of Utah: Summer 2019Collaborators: Dr. David Varricchio, Montana State University; Dr. Rod Scheetz, BYU-Provo; Rose Difley, BYU-Provo
Results: Project begins this summer. Goals are to document the variety of ootaxa present, as well as search for small-bodied dinosaurian taxa, and document the taphonomic processes operative in this depositional system. Gannett Group of Idaho: 2002-Present
Collaborators: Dr. Dave Varricchio, Montana State University
Dr.'s Brooks Britt and Rod Scheetz, BYU-Provo Results: Lacustine assemblages from the Aptian to Albian consisting of freshwater hybodont sharks, semionotid fish, turtles, crocodyliformes, plants, and molluscs. Blackleaf Formation of Montana: 2013Collaborators: Dr. David Varricchio, Montana State University; Dr. Ted Dyman, retired USGS.
Results: Description of additional burrows of Oryctodromeus cubicularis from the Vaughn as well as a taphonomic study of specimens of this taxon currently in review. |
